Production: Channel 4 Logo

I decided I would try to add a Channel 4 logo onto my documentary as it adds to the realism of the documentary and makes my media product appear as if it would actually appear on Channel 4.

The first thing I did was find out what logo was used in the program and found this logo. I had to make sure it was transparent as I would be using it as an overlay to my existing footage and would not want it to cover.

When I first inserted the image it was too big and covered the whole screen and I couldn't figure out how to change it to fit. After trying different ways I downloaded another picture which was smaller and inserted it that way.

Once I inserted the picture over the top of my footage, I resized it making sure I changed the setting from cutaway to picture in picture which allowed me to move the image into the top left hand corner - which is often seen in many Channel 4 documentaries to add to the brand identity.

After this, I extended the time the picture was shown on the screen to my entire documentary so it appeared as a black block on the top of my footage.

I then watched my documentary over to see the effect that it has and I was happy with the result. The logo looks like this throughout my documentary:
